While the 36th edition of Poetry International has its final evening in the Rotterdamse Schouwburg, artspace de Vrije Schuur (the Free Shed) opens its doors with the event BLOEMLEZEN (Flower plots).

Bloemlezen will open on Friday evening June 24, 2005, from 19 h. on, and is also open on Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26 from 12-18 h.

LIVE PROGRAMME:

24-06, FROM 19 h. ON

STRIKE OUT-SHED: Dominique Panhuysen temporarily moves her studio to the Free Shed, in which she will treat her own texts and those submitted by visitors with tipp-ex.

25-06, 12-16 h.

VERSE JOCKEY (VJ): In the Free Shed Arnold Schalks will be available as verse jockey. He will read from his own bookshelf.

25-06, 17 h.

DE KIP, EEN JAMMERKLACHT (The hen, a lament): Lodewijk Ouwens and the Rotterdam Clarinetquartet will perform poultry poetry on the garden terrace, followed by a barbecue with free-range drumsticks.

 

26-06, 17 h.

PANORAMA INIS OÍRR: In the seclusion of the Free Shed, Toine Horvers will perform and call up the grand panorama of an Irish isle.

 

'Bloemlezen' is curated by Rob Streevelaar, Jozef van Rossum and Arnold Schalks.

 

BLOEMLEZEN opened on Friday evening June 24, 19.00 h, and was also open on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26 from 12 - 18 h. 73 persons visited the exhibition.
