CONTEXT: Communicating Vessels is a site specific project, carried out in New York from September 1 - 14, 1998. It is grounded in language and dealing with maritime subjects, technology and historical circumstance. Communicating Vessels includes a newsstand facility and public service in the St. George terminal of the Staten Island Ferry and a homepage as a 'docking area' on the worldwideweb. Collaboration with the New York visual artist Ron Rocco. Under the auspices of Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Staten Island, New York. The catalogue is first published on September 28, 1998, in Rotterdam.

Communicating Vessels received support from the Rotterdam Center for Visual Arts (CBK), the Consulate General for the Netherlands for North America, and Snug Harbor Cultural Center.

TECHNIQUE: Laserprint, 27 black-and-white images, A 5 size, 40 pages, sewn.

EDITIONS: 6 editions, total 185 copies.
