CONTEXT: the B.R.E.M.E.N files is issued on the occasion of the maritime project communicating vessels and is released July 1, 1998 on Staten Island, New York. All texts originated within the framework of Reederei SCHALKS (Übersetzungen), a maritime project that took place between January 1st and February 26th, 1994 in the gallery in the KünstlerHaus am Deich and on the Kleine Weser-River in Bremen, Germany. These texts first appeared on May 31, 1994 in the single issue of the Weser Bootschaft / Weser Bootschap, a newspaper for the Rhine-Weser region. Translation (Dutch/German-English): Leslie Robbins, Cor Drost & Arnold Schalks. Final editing: Betsy M. Blan.

TECHNIQUE: Laserprint, 6 black-and-white images, A5 size, 34 pages, sewn.

EDITION: Four editions: total 100 copies.
